The Swallowing Disorders/Dysphagia Center provides special therapies to improve swallowing and speech capabilities impaired by serious illnesses, such as stroke.

Our multidisciplinary team, headed by a specially trained and board-recognized speech/language pathologist, diagnoses and treats patients.

The Swallowing Disorders/Dysphagia Center utilizes state-of-the art videofluoroscopy and, in the Bronx, fiberoptic endoscopy techniques, to diagnose and help treat those suffering from dysphagia, an often undiagnosed and untreated condition.

Here are some tips on making eating easier for elders with difficulty swallowing.
